Some good news, today giffgaff have added 200 extra minutes to their £20 goodybag.  So for £20 you now get 800 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited mobile Internet.  they always try to give members the best value they can and this increase makes it one of the most competitive £20 packages on the market.

But it wouldn’t be giffgaff if they didn’t get everyone involved, so last week on Twitter they asked their followers to tweet, #getmoregiffgaff and the more followers who mentioned it, the more minutes they’d add to the £20 goodybag.  GiffGaff did something similar on Facebook and it is proving a successful way for people to spread the word about giffgaff.

In other news and as many of you know, currently giffgaff doesn’t support the full range of Blackberry services (push e-mail, Blackberry web and BB Messenger). Across the Community, Facebook and Twitter they get almost daily requests and questions regarding Blackberry. As a result a project has kicked off to launch the functionality to get these services up and running. This project is already underway but it’s a significant piece of work and effects lots of different systems, so the likely launch date is in the summer.

As the CEO of giffgaff previously blogged, giffgaff members are getting free data while they improve the charging system. O2 (who’s system is used for data charging) have isolated the problem and are working on fixing it, details on the history of the issue are here.  The fix is taking more time than they thought to implement, so free data will now run until the 1^st July (site changes will be made in due course).

Lastly, a source of much conversation and demand is a data only product and we can confirm that they are going to launch a data only goodybag.  The work on data charging needs to be completed before they can build and launch it.  Due to this, the data only product will go live when giffgaff have successfully implemented and are happy with how the data charging is working.

We are at the end of our massive house renovation process and have the IKEA wardrobes in place but the place looked kind of bare with all the freshly plastered and painted walls. What we needed was something to make our sons bedroom look more interesting and child friendly so bought some Thomas the Tank Engine and In the Night Garden wall stickers.

Also we saw you could get things like a race track that would cover up lots of a wall but cost a fortune in the west London shop we were checking for beds. While on holiday in Eastern Europe though we just bought loads of large stickers and my wife put them up on our return and the house looks great now with colourful circles on our ikea pax wardrobes and nature patterns on the walls, really does look stylish and more interesting than a plain wall.

A couple of years back we went to Milton Keynes to look for a place to try indoor rock climbing, which we did indeed find but you had to book, which we didnt, so our trip was ultimately for nothing. What we did notice there was a chuffing great indoor ski slope with people rattling down it on skis and snowboards, look quite amazing but we were in the mood to climb up rocks that day not rocket down them.

It seems according to Groupon today though that there is the same sort of place up there in Manchester, and to have a go at the slope will cost you less than £10 for an hour of real snow on a 180 metre slope.

All the things you will need can be hired from the venue so no need to go splashing out on a yellow jumpsuit just yet, and the skis, snowboard, poles, boots are all included with your voucher.

You need to pre-book once you have your voucher, and once you arrive you can make a day of it there with your mates as there are plenty of restaurants and the like in the complex to keep you all entertained throughout the day after your adrenaline rush at chill factore.

Last year on our mega binge of discount experiences, in November my wife bought for us from Groupon “£59 instead of £197 to enjoy a Day of Luxury Pampering for Two at the Spa Retreat of Five-Star Hotel, The Montcalm – Save 70%”, today I notice they are offering another experience at the same hotel which is pretty tempting as we wouldnt mind going back there at all.

The hotel is in a massive house like central London building looking more like where a diplomat might stay and from the guy at the door who welcomes you to the Hotel to the receptionist.. then the lovely spa people we met including Ivan the excellent masseur to finally the guy who I guess you will meet on this deal if you stay after the restaurant, the barman. We had a champagne cocktail at the end of the deal last year and the bar decor was amazing.
