XL went into administration today, I myself personally stood to lose out on £900 which was the cost of the package holiday I booked to Gran Canaria for myself and my wife to start in just over a week.

I was very surprised to find that my Columbus travel insurance, like many other travel insurance companies do not cover situations like this where your tour operator / travel agency becomes bankrupt and enters administration.
