Buy this deal for just £1! £50 KGBkash, £75 welcome gift, first 6 months half price and free installation with Virgin Media Premiere Collection. Includes superfast broadband, TV and calls. (18 month contract)

Time for a quiet evening in front of the box. Let’s see what’s on – Breaking Bad, maybe Game of Thrones, Arrested Development, perhaps a bit of Take Me Out (the guiltiest of guilty pleasures). Heck, maybe we’ll watch the footie or check out something fancy on Sky Arts, Oh…static. Yeah, we really should have remembered to switch from analogue.

Pick yourself up the works, disciples of really great telly; sign up to an 18-month Virgin Media Premiere Collection, including over 200 channels, a TiVo box, an extra HD box (so you can watch in the bath as well), broadband, and more, and for just £1 you’ll get the first 6-months half price, as well as a £75 welcome gift if you order between 19th – 28th August 2013. And just to do our part – we’re throwing in £50 kgbkash, redeemable against the cost of tons of our awesome products.

PictureBox films on Virgin Media freeview for August

Got a pop up on my virgin box yesterday.
Around 60 films, with new ones every week.
Free for Virgin Media customers on M+ or higher TV package.

Films are mostly old, but better than I was expecting for free. Only one of the films says HD, but the quality seems reasonable (better than Love Film streaming when I tried that).

In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart (Twilight) plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) who is out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth, Thor) who was dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power.

The breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale is from Joe Roth, the producer of Alice in Wonderland, producer Sam Mercer (The Sixth Sense) and acclaimed commercial director and state-of-the-art visualist Rupert Sanders.

Free upgrade now from 10mb to 30mb on Virgin Media

We all know that Virgin are doubling all users internet free of charge (if you ignore the fact they have put the monthly cost up!).

I was currently on the 10mb only package at £22.50 a month because I have nothing else with them.

I looked on their web page and they are now offering the upto 30mb for the same price so I phoned them up to ask to be moved to that tariff.

My postcode was due to be upgraded between Oct 2012 and June 2013 so could have been over a year away.

After they tried to sell me a superhub (I pointed out my modem used to be on their 50mb service so I don’t need a superhub) and then they tried to tell me an engineer would need to come out to perform the upgrade (I asked them to just update the config file).

I am now siting on 30mb connection up to a year before I was due to be upgraded at the same price as my old 10mb connection.

Hope it helps someone to do the same.
