The latest phone in Sony’s Xperia™ family landed with us today. The Sony Xperia™ P is a high performing phone packed with some really nifty features, but happily without a big price tag. I’m pretty taken with its sleek design, not only does the phone’s aluminium unibody look modern and stylish but it’s durable too.

Running on Android Gingerbread, but with the ability to upgrade to ICS (which is expected late summer), there are thousands of apps available in the Android store (Google Play).

One of the coolest features of the Xperia™ P is the Fast Capture technology which means the impressive 8MP HD camera goes from sleep mode to ‘snap mode’ in a mere second. You’ll never miss a shot again. And with even more photos to show off, I loved being able to hook the phone up quickly and easily to our TV, Laptop or Sony Playstation, using an HDMI cable or wirelessly by DLNA, which is just as easy.

If you’re lucky enough to be heading off to the sun, the Reality Display with WhiteMagic™ technology should mean no more squinting at the 4” screen in bright sunlight. This little gem has the brightest viewing screen around and it doesn’t impact the battery-life. The smart-power efficiency automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen to your surroundings. Clever huh?

The Xperia™ P is a powerful phone too, boasting an impressive 1GHZ Dual-core processor. If you’re anything like me and you like to flit between multiple screens, you’ll love this phone. I whizz from screen to screen, app to internet, in no time!

Sony are also giving away 50GB worth of free Cloud storage from Box to compliment the already generous 16GB of internal storage.

So if you like the sound of all of that, then head in to a 3store or check online where this fantastic new smartphone is available from today on Three.

The guys at Sony are also running competitions throughout the summer. Get involved with Xperia Unleashed and be in with a chance to win some fantastic Sony prizes. Check this video for more details.
